Youth Ministry
It is important that youth play a vital role in the shaping of our Church. Youth Ministry heralds the building of a foundation firm in faith and strong in spirit.
The goals of Youth Ministry are for teens to grow: spiritually in their relationship to God; intellectually in greater knowledge of their faith; socially as the teens grow together in their journey of faith and in service to others, the parish, and the least among us.
St. Philip's Youth Group is open to all students in high school regardless if the students have participated in an Antioch weekend. Meetings are held on Thursday evenings in the Youth Room from 7- 9 PM. Activities include: discussion, prayer, social time, ice-breakers, and trips.
One of the main pillars of Youth Ministry is Antioch, a weekend experience held in November and March. Antioch gives teens time and space to question whether they are growing in the Catholic Christian faith or just "going through the motions" of a faith that has lost its meaning. Guided by a group of well-trained young men and women, teens share their faith stories and come to know Jesus more personally. Antioch is peer ministry at its best! It could be an experience that will be remembered for a lifetime.
Come and experience St. Philip's Youth MInistry!
